How to prepare your dog for bonitation

Bonitation should be one of the most important events in life of every Czechoslovakian wolfdog. It is not only about decision if the dog will ever breed, but also very valuable source of information important for directing the way the breeding is going. Therefore it should not happen, that only animals which are probably going to pass the bonitation are presented, or only animals which their owner wishes to use for reproduction. From the statistical point of view it is very important to receive information also about animals that are clearly having disqualifying faults or health problems, such as missing teeth or bad hip x-ray results.

On the bonitation, the comparison with the standard is done more carefully than on youth presentation; there are a lot of measurements done of various body parts. The bigger number of dogs is measured and evaluated this way, the bigger value this information gives about the actual status of the population of the breed. So please do not be afraid to bring your dog to the bonitation, even if you do not plan to have puppies on your female or you think that your dog cannot pass.
